2009 Village Fair @ Comboyne
Sunday 20th September 2009
For the last 19 years Comboyne has greeted Spring with its famous Comboyne Spring Festival, with the floral display filling the War Memorial hall with Springtime sights, sounds and aromas to delight the senses. This year, Sunday 20th September saw a new name and format with the "Village Fair @ Comboyne", adding fresh, exciting attractions to the popular family fun day.
Comboyne’s talented local floral artists created a breathtaking floral display based on an unlikely theme – "2009 – Year of Astronomy". The Village Fair was officially opened with a Cheese and Wine Tasting amidst the beautiful floral display at the Comboyne War Memorial Hall.
Visitors to Comboyne were treated to a sunny Comboyne Spring day with the village, a hive of activity with a Bush Poet's Breakfast, food stalls, market stalls, live entertainment, classic and hot rod cars on display, sustainable living expo, helicopter rides, fashion shows, and more.
Organisers, say it was a huge success and planning has already begun for next years event.
